A. The aim of the Pirene prize is to promote awareness of all aspects of Pyrenean reality. Journalistic works (press, radio or television) published or broadcast between 1 July 2009 and 30 June 2010 and dealing with any aspect relating to the Pyrenees may compete for the Pirene prize.
B.Works competing for the prize may be produced in any language used in the Pyrenees (Catalan, French, Castilian, Basque, Aragonese, Occitan or Aranese). Works in English will also be accepted.
To facilitate the task of the jury, it is requested that works in Basque be accompanied by a translation (in Catalan, French or Castilian).
C. Two categories have been set up, based on the media used: Written press and Audiovisual media. For press works, at least one original of the publication plus 4 high quality copies should be presented. For radio and TV works, 5 copies should be presented, recorded on CD or DVD, together with a relevant certificate of broadcasting signed by the director of the station. If it is a series, the author should choose one episode. Webcasts are accepted.
D. To take part in the Pirene competition, the signed registration form must be adjoined to the work, with the details of the authors or legal representatives (name, surnames, address and telephone number or contact e-mail), before 31 July 2010 to:

A note should be added indicating that the work is being presented for the Pirene prize.
E. The Fifteenth Pirene Prize is worth 6,010 €, contributed by the Government of Andorra, 3,005€ being for a radio or TV report and 3,005 € for a written press report.
F. The jury will comprise press, radio and TV professionals from the communications world and also representatives of the Government of Andorra.
G. The jury may take into consideration, as an exception and with the prior consent of the authors, works in any format of the prize which in their opinion evoke the spirit of the prize, even if they have not been entered.
H. The jury will follow the procedure of successive votes until a majority of votes is obtained for a given work. The prize may not be awarded. The jury's verdict is final.
I. The jury's verdict will be announced in November 2010.
J. All candidates for the Pirene prize authorize the Public Library of the Government of Andorra to publish and reproduce the finalist and/or winning entries through any communications media, radio, television, etc.
Equally, the candidates authorise the Public Library of the Government of Andorra to promote their respective web pages, and vice versa, without claim to any rights from the broadcasting of such information.
K. Works not awarded a prize may be collected from the Government Public Library one month after announcement of the awards and during the following three months.
L. Presentation of a work in this competition implies acceptance of these rules and the rights and obligations deriving from them.
